When it comes to success, we all want more of it, right? We wish we had more time, more money, and more freedom to live the life we have always wanted. While a small minority of people has found the right combination to unlock potential and achieve success, the majority of people struggle to meet the bare necessities.

While there is nothing genetically different between the wealthy and poor, there is a major difference in habits, mindset and belief systems. It is a fact that the wealthy and poor each have very different belief systems. Even if you are not aware of how your belief system affects your success, it does just as well.

Being successful isn’t dependent on your background or your upbringing - instead, it’s all about knowing how to implement the ideas which can lead to success. You need to get around the things which keep you from being successful so you can start from nothing and become a massive success.

The secret that the wealthy know that poor people do not is that to be successful, you have to have a deep commitment to your goals and your personal development - and be willing to do anything you have to in order to meet these goals. Financial independence isn’t only about doing the right things; it’s about thinking the right things as well.

However, before you do anything, you first have to determine where you are going. As an illustration, let’s take driving. When you drive somewhere, you generally have a starting point and a destination. If you’ve never been there before, you can still get there by using a map or better yet, a GPS unit.

Whatever your starting point, you can still make it to your destination because you’ll know which way to go. It makes no difference if its only one mile or a thousand - if you keep going the right way, you’ll get there sooner or later.

Life isn’t just taking care of the daily routine; paying the bills, which means you get up every day to go to that job you hate, which means going to bed tired so you can get up tomorrow and do it again. Life is also about setting goals and achieving them, fulfilling your full potential and feeling good about yourself - and looking forward to getting up in the morning.

Take a piece of paper and write down a list of the things you want from life.; The total number of these goals is unimportant; what matters is that these goals are meaningful to you. The more desire you feel towards these goals, the more power you’ll have to achieve it. If you’ve ever done something to please somebody else, then you know that it is not as fulfilling as something you achieve for yourself since your own desire is not behind it.

When you’re done with your list, go back and circle the top 3 goals - the ones that carry the most desire. Write those 3 goals on a separate piece of paper and hang it where you will see it several times throughout the day. Put copies in several rooms, on the refrigerator, in your car, and in your wallet or purse.

After all, once you know where you are going, your mind can figure out a route to get you there.
